Sam Carlson / Thomas Rod Co Fly Rod 5' 1/1 #4 [SALE PENDING]A Sam Carlson Thomas Rod Co one piece bamboo fly rod, 5', built for a #4 line. 1. 6 ounces and serial #1106. Hexagonal construction. I can't find any sign of use. The rod is varnished with chrome guides and tip tops. The main wraps are maroon with red and black windaways separated from the mains, and a set of four off the keeper wrap. The grip is 5 1 2" long and shaped to a western profile with an all cork flatted seat with Sam's delicate oxidized cap

a relatively rare find these days in bamboo but one that hearkens back to the early boom in saltwater fishing when bamboo was still king

I have to admit that these Robichauds are my absolute favorite choice
