Lot 029 - Pair of Antique Folk Art Carved and Painted Wood Bookends with Seated Scottie Dog Silhouette Figures, 9-3/8" H eachPair of antique folk art bookends, each constructed from wood with an arched tombstone form back panel set on a projecting rectangular base. Each front face is decorated with a carved and black painted silhouette of a seated Scottie dog in profile with raised front paws, set against the natural warm toned wood ground. The arched border is painted black, framing the figural motif. The reverses are undecorated, showing the natural wood grain. Condition
including a full-page color frontispiece of Washington taking the oath as president
