Hardy Perfect Fly Reel 2 7/8" with Block CaseA nice Hardy Perfect 2 7 8" trout reel, set up for RHW. Gray agate line guard that is clean and crack free. Duplicated MKII check. Nice overall condition with a good patina. There are some line burns to the outer edge of one pillar, and the handle appears to be a full replacement as it is wood and there is a modern screw to the inside of the winding plate where it holds the replacement handle pin on. Ribbed brass foot approximately 2 3 8" in length.

For sale here is a early's 1970s vintage Orvis CFO III fly reel - the screwback model with three holes in the foot

and actual weight of 2 3/8 oz

I suspect this rod originally came with a canvas outer bag with the fighting butt pocket

though I can’t see anything physically wrong with the area underneath

The reel foot is 21/32" wide and 3" long (this width will not fit modern reel seats)

The darker heat tempering effect on this rod is rarely seen with Winston rods
