Hardy Brass Faced Perfect Reel 4"A very nice Hardy Brass Faced Perfect salmon reel, 4" diameter and set up for the typical RHW. The reel boasts the 1904 design with the improved ratchet pawl, which Hardy introduced to strengthen the pawl with a stronger steel bridge. This reel still has the "C" spring flush against the frame, however, which Hardy would soon orient perpendicularly. Excellent overall condition, with normal cosmetic wear but free of any major defects that I could find.

although there are tiny marks on the edges from having been mounted on a reel seat

The action is a versatile medium-fast with a good bit of backbone thanks in part to the swelled butt

the varnish has worn off the butt section in one area below the female ferrule

untouched condition with the paper and gummed strips still on the grip

Late 1950's vintage with the "Sold by Abercrombie and Fitch" stamping and the perfection stripper

are not perfectly matched

Comes with original brown suede bag and hang tag
